Yes, our steps ARE ordered by God!

Our friend, womanonthevine, has been writing about how God clearly orders our steps. I have another testimony to that fact:

First, some background...many years ago there was a family at our church who were our good friends for a time. Eventually, through some sad circumstances, our families were no longer in contact. In fact, they were not welcome any longer in our home. We left, they left, and we haven't seen each other for six years.

Several weeks ago, as my husband was chatting with some men after PT, he looked up and looked directly into the eyes of a driver in a black car. The driver was the man who had once been our friend. The man pulled his car over and he and my husband embraced. It was true and heartfelt, with no "past" between them. Truly, God had done a work in each of their hearts. They talked about this man's sad six years and he is clearly in need of love. My husband invited him to come see us the following day, but he did not show. This "chance" meeting would not have happened if one of them had not looked up at the exact same moment. Even though this man did not show, their encounter was clearly a Divine Appointment.

Tuesday, as I was heading out for a meeting, I realized I needed to buy a notebook so that I could take some notes. I debated going to the PX to purchase one, as I was running a little late. I decided to hurry in and buy the notebook. I parked my car and as I stepped out into the parking lot, I looked up to see a man in a black car who had slowed down to talk to me. It was our old friend. I talked with him for a minute, he parked his car and he walked through the store with me. He said he did not show up to our house that day because he "choked." He was not ready for the conversation that would inevitably take place if he came to our house. It would be a conversation about how he has fallen away from God and how he desparately needs to repent and turn back. He is now living in the consequences of walking away, but is clearly being drawn back. He said, "It's crazy how I keep running into you people." I assured him we loved him and that he needed to come see us.

If I had been a minute earlier or later, I would not have seen this man. If I had chosen not to get the notebook that day, I would not have run into him. I believe that each of our meetings were ordered by God. He wants us to invest in this man and be agents of healing.

So, womanonthevine, keep being sensitive to where the Spirit is leading. We're doing the same and it's blowing our minds!

Praise the Lord Sister! I am encouraged with you and as amazed as you are. One half a second too early or too late makes all the difference. It is like the Lord is just saying "here this is what I want from you today!"

Love Ya...praying for the continued interaction healing and repentance for this brother.
